- And my personal favorite, being able to refer people to articles that you’ve written!
To ensure your guest submission is accepted and well received, here are some guidelines to help you out:
Readers of DeployHappiness are IT professionals looking for solid solutions to their problems. It is very important to identify a problem and explain the your solution. Possible article topics can be explanations of new technologies, best practices of existing products, and in-depth reviews of software or hardware. If you have several ideas, pitch them all and I will be happy to give you some feedback. For additional ideas, look at our Top Posts widget (on the home page) to see what is currently popular.
When submitting your article, include a brief (2-3 sentence) author biography. If desired, you can provide a link back to your blog or a social media account.
Articles should be informative and written in a clear manner. If documenting a setup process, it is not necessary to document each step in a wizard or list every available option. Article length can be between 300 words up to 1000. Articles after 1000 words are normally broken up into parts. If scripts will be included in your article, please separate them out from each paragraph by a line break. Commands (such as Get-QADCOMPUTER IT-Joseph) should be italicized or bolded. Finally, be sure to correct for grammatical or spelling mistakes.
If you have a personal blog that is freely assessable, it is acceptable to link to it where strictly relevant. Please do not link to products you are selling or use affiliate links. If possible, attempt to link your article to other articles on DeployHappiness. This serves to enrich your article and will generate additional page views for your work.
Please include at least one image in your guest post if possible. When submitting your guest post, save each picture separately as a PNG file. Please be sure that any non-screenshot picture (such as one from a photo sharing website) fall under Fair Use policy and DMCA.
After submitting your guest post, please allow up to a week to read and revise original post. Unless you otherwise request, you will receive an updated guest post highlighting any changes (including formatting). Please do not get offended if I suggest changes. It is fine to accept/deny changes. If you deny a change, just explain why.
